The Challenge

The West Midland Safari Park needed to build a new multi-classroom structure which was to consist of classrooms, offices and other facilities along with a suspended decking area overlooking the hippo lakes.

The proposed site was sloping, bounded the lakes and situated between two large trees which needed to be protected.

The Solution

We supplied and installed QuadraPile helical pile foundations which completely removed the need to use concrete.

We then designed the steelwork and suspended timber floor structure to take account of the sloping site and enable the buildings and decking to be constructed on top.

Using our system protected the trees and any risk of concrete contamination in the lakes as well as vastly reducing the amount of excavation required.
