The Requirement
Refurbishment of an existing building which houses a private members club included the installation of a lift which required foundations in the basement.
Limited access via an external staircase and through multiple doors prevented the use of any large equipment.
Disruption had to be minimal as the club upstairs remained open throughout the process.
The Solution
Alongside the project engineer, we developed a solution using QuadraPile foundations to support a concrete cap at the base of the lift shaft.
The piles could be installed in the restricted space available and load tested to ensure suitable capacity.
This solution minimised the disruption and amount of excavation required.
