The Requirement

A garden wall next to a footpath had been made structurally unstable by nearby trees. The site was in a conservation area and the trees needed to be left undamaged which ruled out traditional concrete foundations.

The Solution

We installed QuadraPile helical pile foundations in a shallow trench. The pile tops were then cast in a reinforced concrete groundbeam which could support the new wall construction.

  • Piles were positioned to avoid the tree roots.
  • All piles were load tested following installation
  • Minimal excavation was required and the new groundbeam was suspended above the roots in order to prevent the roots damaging the new wall.
