The Requirement
A proposed house extension required foundations to deal with poor ground and the potential for ground heave and/or subsidence.
The Solution
The engineer designed a scheme incorporating piles with reinforced concrete ground beams to link them together and accept a beam and block floor.
Heave protection void formers were used below and beside the concrete to provide space for the ground to expand without affecting the foundations.
The QuadraPile helical pile system was an ideal choice as it could be installed quickly using small installation equipment causing minimal interference with the occupied property and surroundings.
