The Requirement

Four commercial buildings were suffering from seasonal foundation movement due to being built in poor ground conditions.

This had resulted in movement and cracking in various places.

Existing foundations were 1.5m deep concrete strips which were not adequate to cope with the poor ground and imposed loads.

The Solution

We installed QuadraPile helical piles around the perimeter and across internal dividing walls.

The piles were installed into holes cored through the 1.5m thick existing concrete foundations.

The piles were then grouted into the existing foundations to provide support.

A scheme of masonry reinforcement was also installed to reinstate the structural integrity of the masonry.
