The Requirement

The property had suffered from subsidence which had caused one corner of the property to drop and rotate outwards, resulting in severe cracking of around 20mm, following a hot dry summer.

Nearby trees and clay soil were identified as the main contributory factors.

The Solution

We designed and installed a scheme which included masonry reinforcement to form beams in the walls plus QuadraPile helical piles which were tied into the existing foundations using small concrete pile caps.

This is a less intrusive option than traditional underpinning.

Aesthetic re-building of the brickwork could then be carried out to realign the displaced areas of the walls.
