The Challenge
Temporary foundations were required for an oak-framed timber building in the RHS garden at Chelsea flower show.
The foundations needed to be structurally stable to account for numerous visitors entering the building but allow removal at the end of the show.
The garden was The Kings Foundation Curious Garden designed by BBC Gardener’s World’s Francis Tophill with David Beckham and Alan Titchmarsh.
The Solution
We worked with the structural engineer to develop a solution to enable rapid installation and removal.
This involved the use of our QuadraPile helical pile foundations along with steel beams which were installed within a few hours ready to take the timber structure.
The whole structure was removed after the show ready to be re-installed onto the same piled foundations at its permanent site.
